Peter McRae is an internationally recognised and accredited customs broker with 17 years Australian industry experience.

He runs a successful customs brokerage that he founded in 2000. Platinum Freight® Management is a leading independent national customs brokering and freight forwarding company with offices across Australia, as well as in Hong Kong and Auckland, New Zealand. 

McRae is a certified Customs Broker in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a Certified Customs Specialist in Canada and the USA. He is also a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist in Canada. 

In November 2015 McRae was named one of the top Australian customs brokers at the annual Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards. 

With his extensive experience, McRae guides clients, from individuals to SMEs and large businesses, through the complex and little understood Australian Customs system for both importing and exporting. He ensures the fastest and smoothest customs clearance process and subsequent delivery of imported and exported goods as well as ensuring full compliance with Customs agencies. 

McRae holds a Masters of International Customs Law and Administration as well as a Masters of International Revenue Administration through the University of Canberra. 

He teaches Customs Brokering at NSW TAFE (St George Campus) and is an Adjunct Lecturer with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, Charles Sturt University.

Additionally, Platinum Freight® runs professional industry workshops in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland, to educate businesses about Customs processes. A community-focussed businessman, McRae runs a generous Social Responsibility Program through his agency, which helps families and individuals via a number of important charity and community support programs. He also regularly participates in charity challenges and fundraising programs including Vinnies CEO sleepout and White Ribbon. He is an Ambassador for the White Ribbon Organization. 

Peter is a father of one and enjoys travelling, reading biographies and playing sport with his son.
